I just want to wish the families, friends, and loved ones of deployed soldiers across the globe a Happy Independence Day. I shall conclude with a quote that many people should memorize. It wasn't made by a famous President, a civil rights activist, a beatnik, a tree hugger, a war monger, or an average Joe. It was written by a screen writer, and portrayed by an actor. Omitting the first sentence, it can be applied to every day life. And I use this speech to call upon all patriots, for whatever peaceful reason, or freedom bound purpose you have, to join in the global fight on terrorism. Because it is not going to be some alien race, or giant magnet that destroys life on this planet, but the greed, hatred, and general mutual disrespect for others that goes on between social factions. So with that, fight those that stand for tyranny, oppression, fear, and violence - all things that will lead to our annihilation - so that the next generation of Americans, human beings can live in peace and harmony.
"Mankind." That word should have new meaning for all of us today. We can't be consumed by our petty differences anymore. We will be united in our common interests. Perhaps it's fate that today is the Fourth of July, and you will once again be fighting for our freedom... Not from tyranny, oppression, or persecution... but from annihilation. We are fighting for our right to live. To exist. And should we win the day, the Fourth of July will no longer be known as an American holiday, but as the day the world declared in one voice: "We will not go quietly into the night!" We will not vanish without a fight! We're going to live on! We're going to survive! Today we celebrate our Independence Day!
