US Death Toll Reaches 4,000

Really, are we gonna focus on 4,000 deaths in a war over a five year period? That is less than a thousand a year. There are more violent killings in the continental United States every year than that.

And put it into perspective, world war II, there were almost 300,000 American soldiers killed, we almost hit 4,000 during Operation Overlord alone.

And I know what the comeback to this one is already, and thats why I have to smack this post down, Iraq is an unpopular war, World War II wasn't. Well get the facts straight, in a recent 60 minutes interview the top FBI interrogator in charge of questioning Saddam revealed it, Saddam may not have had the weapons of mass destruction, but he continued the ruse of having them in order to stay in power. He brought the war on when he attempted to "scare" off any would be invaders.

I applaud McCain for telling it like it is. We should stay in Iraq as long as it takes. We wouldn't have become the United States is we backed down. Pull out of Iraq before the job is done and you will have the PKK, Al Qaida, and every other muslim terrorist setting up a headquarters in Iraq. The once proud cradle of civilization will run red as the new cradle of terrorism.
